The Winter Update

Happy New Year! We trust this finds each of you doing well and staying warm. Today marked the 11th day in a row of temperatures below freezing here in Central PA, though of course, Gustavo and the rest of the Valdez family are enjoying 85 degree temperatures in Guatemala, where Gustavo is leading two church work teams (1 medical and 1 construction) for the month of January.

We are getting ready to mail out our winter newsletter and wanted to make sure we had everyones appropriate mailing address. If you have not received any mailings from us in the past 12 months and would LIKE to receive this upcoming mailing, would you do us the favor and forward us your correct address?

This upcoming newsletter will share what it is we as Kairos did during 2009 and highlight what is in the works for 2010.

Three quick updates to share now….

1) We are pleased to share that we were able to collect all the funds needed for the Christmas celebrations in Tierra Blanca and at the Kairos House as well as enough to cover the bonus salary needed to pay our caretakers at the Kairos House. We will share more details and photos in our newsletter. . .

2) A special prayer request for a wonderful praise. . . many of you may have already heard that Any and Chino are expecting their 2nd child! Any is due at the end of August. She is doing well, though very tired (as is to be expected this early on in her pregnancy). We ask for a safe pregnancy and delivery for both baby and mom as well as prayers for the Perdomo family as they will be adjusting to life with two babies.

3) Please pray for the ministry as the whole team is traveling to Chiquimula this week with a medical team Gustavo is leading from Lewisburg, PA. The 17th of January, the 2nd team will arrive from Manheim, PA and will be working in the Kairos House.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support! We would love to hear from you. If you get a chance, drop us a quick email and let us know how you are doing and how we can pray for you in YOUR life.

Most sincerely,

Elizabeth Valdez for Kairos
